Ryan Seacrest allegedly quit Kelly and Ryan because he wants to be the star of his own show.

According to Globe, Seacrest has gotten tired of playing second fiddle to his co-host Kelly Ripa.

“Ryan had it with being Kelly’s second banana,” the source said.

The source also claimed that the American Idol host doesn’t like the fact that Ripa has been micromanaging him and everyone on the set of their talk show.

Seacrest also found out months earlier that Ripa wanted her husband Mark Consuelos to replace him in Kelly and Ryan so that because she could get him fired, he decided to already quit the program.

“Mark and Kelly have TV magic. Viewers can’t get enough of watching the sparks between them. It was clear Kelly wanted Mark to be there by her side permanently,” the source said.

Meanwhile, it seems that fans of Kelly and Ryan do not miss seeing Seacrest by Ripa’s side. After all, the ratings for the talk show spiked up after Conseulos’ recent appearance.

So, Seacrest is allegedly left with no other choice but to accept the fact that Ripa wasn’t at fault for wanting him out. Rather, it’s the viewers that didn’t see the chemistry between the former co-hosts.

For now, Seacrest will continue hosting American Idol and he doesn’t know what else he would do in the coming months.

“Ryan’s grateful to be getting back to L.A. and his business empire there. He has no regrets closing the book on this chapter of his life,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that Ripa wanted Seacrest out of the talk show because she wants to team up with her husband.

It is important to note that leaving Kelly and Ryan was Seacrest’s decision. And no one wanted him to quit but himself.

And while it is true that fans of Ripa and Consuelos are thrilled that the real-life couple is now working together, it’s not true that they have also wanted Seacrest out.

All these claims made by the tabloid were just their way of trying to pit Seacrest and Ripa against each other even if in reality, the former co-hosts have become very close friends throughout the years.
