Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun have reportedly broken up and are no longer engaged.

Page Six said it obtained a confirmation about the split from reps for the 38-year-old songstress on Tuesday. However, a spokesperson for the 35-year-old artist seemingly hinted that it came as a surprise to him.

Speaking to the publication, a rep for the “Flames” singer shared that he and Lavigne “were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour,” before adding, “So if anything has changed that’s news to him.”

Despite this, though, the rep noted that Mod Sun has no plans to slow down with his work as his tour continues. As stated, “The show will happen tonight and tomorrow and for the rest of the tour.”

It remains unclear what led to the reported split, but TMZ said they were told there was no cheating on either side.

The outlet also shared in the same report, published Tuesday, what sources, reportedly close to Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun, stated about the matter.

As claimed, the two artists had tried to make their relationship work recently, adding that they were “on and off” over the last few months.

Entertainment Tonight learned similar claims about the relationship from an insider, reportedly close to the “Sk8er Boi” singer.

It is alleged that “things haven’t been great” between Mod Sun and Avril Lavigne “for quite some time.” Moreover, it is stated that she “realized the relationship wasn’t right for her,” after the same source said they tried “to make things work.”

Meanwhile, for his part, the “Karma” singer reportedly “definitely” knows that his engagement to the “Let Go” artist has ended.

The two artists got engaged in April 2022.

At the time, Lavigne and the “Amnesia” singer took to social media to announce the relationship milestone, featuring snaps from the special moment in Paris, France.

Us Weekly recalls in a report that the two personalities first got together when they collaborated on a project between late 2020 and early 2021. As noted, they co-wrote “Flames” and appeared in the title’s official music video.

Last week, Mod Sun had an exclusive interview with E! News, wherein he talked about how Avril Lavigne makes him a “better person.”

The artist, whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith, shared that he has “found a partner in this world to go through the chaos that life gives you.”

He continued in the exchange that he has “found that person,” before adding, “I’m with a real grown woman who has gone through it all 10 times over and she makes me a better person.”
