Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s relationship has been at the center of rumors ever since they got back together.

But after the recent Grammys, In Touch Weekly claimed that fans finally caught a glimpse of Lopez and Affleck fighting with each other.

“But the reaction to the video does shed light on one of the biggest issues in their relationship. Ben has acknowledged that he will always be an alcoholic and that slip-ups happen and friends say Jen’s no. 1 fear is that he’ll be tempted to drink. Her efforts to make sure that doesn’t happen have caused tension in their marriage,” the source said.

The source added that Lopez has every right to be worried about Affleck’s sobriety. After all, the Deep Water previously admitted that his marriage to Jennifer Garner fell apart because of his drinking.

“She’s in this marriage for the long haul and will do whatever she can to protect it. She’s done her research and even uses his AA sayings on him, like ‘one day at a time.’ So, she understands that recovery is a work in progress,” the source said.

The source also said that hanging out with friends has been challenging for Affleck. After all, he is unable to drink with them.

“Hollywood parties are still super stressful, with all the alcohol around. Jen has never been a big drinker herself and tries not to drink in front of him, but at these big events, she can’t control the surroundings and she finds herself watching him closely,” the source said.

So, at the end of the day, Affleck only needs Lopez’s support because if she doesn’t trust him, their relationship would become suffocating.

However, the source also said that Lopez means well. She just wants her husband to be healthy at all times.

While it is true that Affleck battled his alcohol addiction for many years, there’s no indication that he’s still dealing with it right now. There’s also no proof that Affleck and Lopez argued over his drinking at the Grammys.

As public figures, Lopez and Affleck know all too well that they shouldn’t discuss these kinds of matters in public, especially at an event. After all, all eyes are on them and they will surely be criticized for every move they make.
