Hilary Duff is sharing an insight into her friendship with her former boyfriend, Joel Madden, and his wife, Nicole Richie.

Entertainment Tonight reported that the 35-year-old actress opened up about the matter during a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.”

It seemingly came after she and Matthew Koma were seen hanging out with the other celebrity couple last year, and she realized how the public’s “mind was blown for a hot second” following the outing.

Duff is said to have told the television personality that she has “a good relationship” with Madden and Richie’s family. She added, “I think people were [blown away],” before revealing, “We’re neighbors and we actually hang out all the time. I was just in her driveway honking for her to come drink wine with us the other day.”

Earlier in February, the “Raise Your Voice” actress and the Good Charlotte vocalist had a group date night with their respective spouses, Matthew Koma and Nicole Richie.

They were also with other pals, including music executive Josh Abraham and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, along with their respective partners, according to Us Weekly.

The couples are said to have dined at Scratch|Bar & Kitchen in Los Angeles, which were also reportedly seen in the snaps posted that night.

The outlet also recalled that one of the photos from the outing featured Hilary Duff and Nicole Richie as they smiled with their respective husbands wrapping their arms around them.

The “Cheaper By The Dozen” actress and the “Girls and Boys” singer dated from 2004 to 2006. Following their split, he moved on to dating Nicole Richie, with whom he tied the knot in December 2010.

Joel Madden did not address the breakup until a few months later when he spoke to People about the matter.

Speaking to the magazine at the time, the then-28-year-old artist stated that he “kind of ignored it and tried to just continue to live my life.”

He also shared, “People can say or think whatever they want… so in my reality, it’s kind of irrelevant,” before noting, “I’m always the kind of person that does the right thing and keeps my side of the street clean.”

In the same exchange, published in March 2007, Madden also confirmed what the "Lizzie McGuire" actress had told the magazine about them keeping in touch and having a “great relationship” after the breakup.

Meanwhile, Hilary Duff tied the knot with Matthew Koma in 2019. The couple, who share two children, just marked their third wedding anniversary in December.
