A royal expert is sharing insight into the relationship Meghan Markle has had with Kate Middleton and Prince William.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Katie Nicholl talked about the suspected "pretty cool" dynamic between the Duchess of Sussex and the Waleses couple, noting that the former has seemingly confirmed it. It comes after the former actress revealed in Netflix’s “Harry & Meghan” what went down during her first meeting with the royal couple.

The expert told the publication that the former working royal’s “recollection of meeting William and Kate for the first time rings very true to me.” She stated that she recalled what sources had said to her while doing research on that event, and had learned that “William did find her a big personality," as "Meghan said she went in for the hugs and everything else."

Nicholl continued to the outlet that Meghan Markle had “expected the formality that she recognized in them as a royal couple sort of not be extended behind the closed doors of Kensington Palace.”

However, it was not the case, citing the revelation in the Netflix documentary, the expert noted, “I think our suspicions about this being a pretty cool relationship right from the start have been confirmed here.”

The first part of the documentary series, “Harry & Meghan,” dropped on Netflix on Thursday. At one point in the material, Meghan Markle revealed the moment she first met Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The former “Suits” actress shared that the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge came over for dinner at the time. She noted that she “was in ripped jeans” and “barefoot,” adding that she “was a hugger, always been a hugger.”

However, the former working royal asserted that she “didn’t realize that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.”

The Duchess of Sussex continued in the docuseries that she “started to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside…,” adding that it “was surprising to me.”

Elsewhere in the exchange with ET, published Thursday, Katie Nicholl discussed her thoughts on both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. She asserted that the first meeting story also seemingly confirmed that the two women are “very different” from each other, which is why “they were never going to be best friends.”

The expert, who authored “The New Royals,” explained to the outlet that the Duchess of Sussex “interpreted that as coolness,” while the Princess of Wales, as far as she is concerned, “it’s not natural for her to go and give a great big bear hug to someone that she hasn’t me before.”

Nicholl later said, “I think those sort of cultural clashes were clearly there, and I think [it's] just different people here.”
