Weeks have passed since the National Football League announced that Rihanna will headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2023. While details have remained scarce, the artist recently shared some insight into the matter, including her feelings toward the upcoming performance.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet for the October premiere of the fourth Savage x Fenty Show, the 34-year-old songstress admitted to still coming to terms with it. She even stated she could not believe she agreed to do the show.

The “Lift Me Up” singer told the outlet that she could not believe she “even said ‘yes.’” She explained that “it was one of those things that even when I announced it, I was like, ‘OK, I can’t take it back. Now, it’s like final.’”

The Fenty owner continued to the publication, which published the exchange on Monday, that “the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world,” adding that “to be on a stage like that” is a dream of every entertainer.

Rihanna consequently revealed that “it’s nerve-racking” as she wanted to “get it right.” She stated, “You know, everybody’s watching. And they’re rooting for you. And I want to get it right.”

The “Ocean’s Eight” actress first broke her silence about her thoughts on her Super Bowl Halftime performance earlier in October. It came after she went shopping at Bristol Farms in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.

The outlet asked about the upcoming show, and Rihanna stated she felt “nervous.” She countered, however, that she was “excited” to hit the stage, which will occur this February 2023.

Elsewhere in the brief exchange with the publication, the “Don’t Stop The Music” singer gave hints about who might join her on stage for the performance. When asked whether A$AP Rocky, with whom she shares a child, would be with her on the show, she responded, “maybe.”

News broke in late September that Rihanna will headline the next Super Bowl Halftime Show, which will take place in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12, 2023.

At the time, Forbes said Apple Music, which replaced Pepsi as the sponsor, confirmed the matter in an announcement. As noted, it came after the “Where Have You Been” singer shared a cryptic post on social media with a photo showing her tattooed hand holding an NFL-branded football.

Reports shared that it could mark the songstress’s return to music as she last released an album in 2016. But, she has since dropped a new title, "Lift Me Up," which serves as the lead single on Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

Variety said the song, which dropped later in October, is a tribute to the life and legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman.
