The highly anticipated memoir of Prince Harry now has an official title and release date. It comes after Penguin Random House, which will publish the material, recently made the announcement.

The publisher shared in a press release earlier on Thursday that the book will carry the title “Spare,” noting that it will be out on January 10, 2023, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Penguin Random House also noted in the announcement that the former working royal’s memoir “takes readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow - and horror,” the outlet continued.

The publisher later added, “As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling — and how their lives would play out from that point on," adding that this is Prince Harry’s story “at last,” ET shared.

The synopsis of “Spare” can also be found on Penguin Random House’s dedicated website for the Duke of Sussex’s memoir, which was first announced in July 2021.

It notes that the book, complete with “raw, unflinching honesty,” is a “landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.”

The website reveals elsewhere on its page that “Spare” will be published in translation in 15 additional languages.

It also shares that Transworld, an imprint of Penguin Random House UK, will publish the English editions of the book in Australia, India, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, and Random House Canada for Canada.

The same site notes, as well, that proceeds from Prince Harry’s memoir will go to British charities, including Sentebale and WellChild. It adds that the royal has already donated $1.5 million to the former, and will do the same for the latter in the amount of nearly $350,000.

The official announcement from Penguin Random House comes a few hours after reports claimed that the Duke of Sussex’s memoir will drop on January 10, 2023.

The New York Times was first to report Wednesday, citing industry executives as its sources.

People, in its report covering the claim, stated that the publisher did not immediately respond to its request for comment. It also revealed that a rep for Prince Harry declined to share a statement.

Meanwhile, with regard to Thursday's announcement about "Spare," reports said that Buckingham Palace had no comment.
