Calista Flockhart doesn’t allegedly have any plans to reprise her role in Ally McBeal.

An unnamed source told National Enquirer that Flockhart and her other co-stars like Portia de Rossi were invited to return to the remake. However, the former’s response to the opportunity has been nothing but lukewarm.

“Calista is extremely choosy about the few roles she takes these days. It’s got to really appeal to her because she prefers a low-key lifestyle, traveling back and forth from L.A. to Wyoming with her man,” the source said.

The source that Flockhart has not categorically declined the opportunity, but she wasn’t also excited to hear the news of her possible return.

“She hasn’t totally said no but she isn’t exactly jumping on the project, either. The issue is whether she wants to dive back into the Hollywood goldfish bowl, which is what the Ally McBeal reboot would certainly require. The show bosses are doing everything to persuade her right now but it’s 50-50 at best,” the source said.

Meanwhile, a similar story was published last week about de Rossi. Ally McBeal was also tapped to reprise her role in the series, but she’s worried about what accepting the job would make Ellen DeGeneres feel.

A source told New Idea that the last thing that de Rossi wants is for DeGeneres to feel bad because she’s stuck at home following her exit from The Ellen Show.

The comedian is also allegedly dealing with the loss of her ex-girlfriend, Anne Heche that’s why it might be best if de Rossi is always by her side

“She is used to being the breadwinner. But now Portia’s looking like she’s going to be the big star of the family. Portia’s torn as Ellen’s pretty low right now and going back to work could impact their marriage – and that’s something that she’s not willing to risk, even for the chance of a big break in her career,” the source said.

However, one should take all these claims with a grain of salt. As of late, the Ally McBeal reboot has not yet been finalized. But if it pushes through, it is highly likely for Flockhart and de Rossi to be part of it.

The only question is whether the co-stars will join the reboot in a limited or full capacity.
