Prince Harry is celebrating the life of Queen Elizabeth II following her passing. She penned a tribute to her grandmother, wherein he also reflected on her legacy.

In the piece, which Archewell published earlier on Monday, the royal-born Prince began by noting that his grandmother was a “guiding compass” to many people “in her commitment to service and duty.”

The Duke of Sussex also said that “she was globally admired and respected,” adding that the late royal’s “unwavering grace and dignity remained true throughout her life and now her everlasting legacy.”

Prince Harry continued that while Queen Elizabeth II’s passing brings the family “great sadness,” he said he is “forever grateful” for all of their “first meetings.”

He consequently mentioned some of these events, including his “earliest childhood memories” with his grandmother, the first time he met her as his Commander-in-Chief, the first moment she met Meghan Markle, and the time she hugged her “beloved” great-grandchildren from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The former working royal added that he cherishes these times they shared together “and the many other special moments in between.”

Elsewhere in the piece, Prince Harry recalled Queen Elizabeth II’s “comforting” words after the passing of Prince Philip in 2021. He quoted her, writing, “Life, of course, consists of final partings as well as first meetings.”

The Duke of Sussex later pointed out that the late British Monarch is “already sorely missed” by everyone across the globe. He also honored his father “in his new role as King Charles III.”

The former working royal then thanked the late Queen for her “commitment to service,” “sound advice,” and “infectious smile.”

In the end, the royal-born Prince said, “We, too, smile knowing that you and grandpa are reunited now, and both together in peace.”

This is not the first time Prince Harry paid a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II via Archewell. Following the announcement of her death, he and Meghan Markle “subtly honored” her by updating their foundation’s official website, according to Page Six.

On Thursday, the platform’s update showed a black screen with a short message written in white letters. It read, “In loving memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022.”

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reunited with Prince William and Kate Middleton on Saturday. The two couples made a joint appearance outside Windsor Castle to meet and greet well-wishers.

Kensington Palace said the newly created Prince of Wales invited the former working royals to join him and the Princess of Wales, according to People.

The magazine also learned from another source that security did not expect the joint outing of the two couples at the walkabout.
