Travis Barker was rushed to the hospital earlier this month after experiencing intense pain in his abdominal area. It was later revealed that the drummer suffered from pancreatitis.

Now, National Enquirer is speculating on the possibility that Barker was diagnosed with pancreatitis because of his complicated relationship with booze. Before getting sober, there were rumors that Kourtney Kardashian’s husband became addicted to alcohol.

Other than booze, Barker also did marijuana and opioids years ago. And all these things contributed to his recent diagnosis.

“The effects of that kind of self-destructive behavior just don’t go away. And now it seems he might be paying the price,” the source said.

The insider also suggested that Barker wasn’t completely honest with his diagnosis. After all, he underwent colonoscopy which isn’t allegedly necessary if you are dealing with pancreatitis.

“A colonoscopy seems a strange explanation for his condition. Alcohol abuse is one of the key causes of pancreatitis even if it is in the past. Even if he’s reformed, his old habits could have been a trigger to inflammation that can cause kidney failure, cancer, or diabetes, and can be fatal if not treated properly,” the source said.

Other than Barker’s previous addiction, other fans are also speculating on the possibility that he and Kardashian are struggling to have kids because of the drummer’s bad habits. However, this claim has not been proven.

What is only known is that Kardashian and Barker have been trying to conceive their first child naturally throughout the past couple of months. Unfortunately, they haven’t been successful at it yet.

As of late, there’s no proof that Barker’s previous relationship with alcohol and drugs triggered his pancreatitis. The Blink 182 drummer did not divulge much detail about his diagnosis following his hospitalization. But he and his wife thanked their supporters for all the love and prayers.

“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe, life-threatening pancreatitis. With intensive treatment, I am currently much better,” he said.

Barker’s statement also proved that he did not undergo colonoscopy. Instead, the drummer underwent endoscopy which is part of the procedure that he received while at the hospital. And what’s most important now is that he’s doing much better.
