Brad Pitt was likely one of the driving factors that led to Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight’s reconciliation.

Cheat Sheet reported that the “Troy” actor might have had a hand in the process of mending fences between her former partner and her then-estranged father. This came after unearthed reports said so, noting that the fence-mending started to happen amid their highly-publicized relationship.

It noted that Voight and Jolie were not on speaking terms for years. But, in 2010, which was already years into the actress and Pitt’s romance, witnesses spotted the father and daughter for the first time since their estrangement.

The publication did not explain in detail how the “Fight Club” star became one of the driving forces of the eventual reconciliation between Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight. Even so, the “National Treasure” actor told People at the time that he had a “wonderful time,” and “loved” being on the trip with his daughter and Brad Pitt, alongside their children, whom he described as “quite spectacular.”

Ranker previously released a similar report, detailing the “Seven” actor’s role at the end of the estrangement between Voight and Jolie.

A source then told the Daily Express that since the passing of the actress’s mother in 2007, “Brad Pitt has been gently urging her to reconcile with her father.” As added, she should do it, though “if not for her sake, then so the children can have their grandfather in their life.”

The publication later quoted the “Maleficent” actress, who admitted to calling her father on Christmas Day in 2008, saying, “we have spoken and we are going to try to get to know each other and maybe try not be this daddy and daughter, but to be there for each other as friends in the coming years.”

The rift between Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight began years before the actress’s relationship with Brad Pitt. Reports said that it all seemingly came after the veteran actor “infamously” told Access Hollywood in the summer of 2002 that his daughter had “mental problems” and needed help.

E! News added that, on the same day of the shocking interview, the “Deliverance” star stated that the “Eternals” actress has been “staying away from [him] because she knows I’ve been trying to reach her to get help.”

A month later, Jolie legally dropped her father’s surname from her name. She also revealed to Premiere in 2004 that she and her father do not speak, although she noted that she does not hold any anger toward him.
