Rebel Wilson desires to have a family. In hopes of doing so, she embarked on a weight loss journey.

Mail Online reported that the revelations came from the 42-year-old actress herself during an interview with People. She opened up about her weight loss and fertility journey.

Wilson noted that she visited a fertility doctor in 2019 as she was looking at the prospect of freezing her eggs. But, the expert told her that she would have a much better chance if she were “healthier.”

She also added that she has considered becoming a parent alone. But, while she is currently in a relationship, she shared that she is “going for it by [herself] at the moment because of the biological clock.”

In the same exclusive interview, Rebel Wilson recalled feeling “taken aback” after hearing the fertility doctor’s assertion. She even thought the expert was “so rude,” but she realized “he was right,” adding that she was “carrying around a lot of excess weight.”

The “Pitch Perfect” star continued that “it is almost like [she] did not think of [her] own needs.” She consequently stated that she “thought of a future child’s needs that really inspired [her] to get healthier.”

Wilson also touched on the actual journey and process she went through starting from 2020. She shared that “it was not a goal” to reach a certain weight” as it was about “being the healthiest version” of herself.

The “Hustle” actress pointed out, as well, that it involves “dealing with the emotional issues” she had, causing her to “emotionally eat.” She noted that this was a “process” that she had never done in the past.

Rebel Wilson began her weight loss journey in 2020, which she refers to as her “Year of Health.” While it officially wrapped up on the last day of the year, Eating Well claimed that she appears to have continued this path to becoming the healthiest version of herself.

The actress has since lost over 80 lbs (about 36 kg). Fans and followers have witnessed her journey as she remained consistent in documenting her feats and achievements on social media.

The same publication, later on, released some pointers regarding the things that have helped Rebel Wilson lose weight and get healthier. On top of the list is about being “okay with imperfections.”

As noted, the actress has not been “restrictive” of her routines or working out excessively. Instead, she focuses on attacking “health at all angles” and reportedly giving herself “grace” on her days off.
