Camilla Parker Bowles will be a “Queen Consort” to Prince Charles when he ascends to the British Throne. While many are in celebration of the matter, the late Princess Diana would have reportedly “loathed” the idea of it.

Royal author and expert Tina Brown made the claims during her recent interview, according to Express UK. She discussed several matters about the British Royal Family with the Telegraph magazine.

She stated that “there is no question about it” after saying the late Princess of Wales “would have loathed” and not liked the thought of the Duchess of Cornwall becoming “Queen.” But, she argued that it has been “25 years” since the royal’s passing.

Brown, then, pointed out that Queen Elizabeth II “has always been a pragmatist,” adding that the monarch “knows Charles wants Camilla [Parker Bowles] to be queen.” Accordingly, she now wants to “tidy up and do what she can to help Charles take on the role.”

Queen Elizabeth II marked the 70th year of her reign by releasing an official announcement. In a lengthy message, which went public earlier in February, she made her “sincere wish” known that Camilla Parker Bowles will become “Queen Consort” when Prince Charles becomes King of the United Kingdom.

BBC said that the title, “Queen Consort,” refers to the spouse of a reigning King. This reportedly means that the Duchess of Cornwall will be called “Queen Camilla” in the future.

Experts, as well as the public, had believed that the Prince of Wales’ second wife would be known as “Princess Consort.” But, the Queen’s message on the eve of her Platinum Jubilee appeared to have resolved the matter.

Tina Brown, also, shared some of her thoughts about Prince Harry and Prince William’s views about the British Monarch’s move, giving the title to their stepmother. She asserted that the Wales princes have a “mixed” reception as the youngest Wales prince “never made his peace” with his father’s relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles.

The royal expert believes that the Duke of Cambridge approves of the decision. However, she takes that the Duke of Sussex is “very angry” about the Duchess of Cornwall’s future title.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remained silent about the matter. Reports alleged that they never reached out to the royals nor congratulated the wife of the Prince of Wales for its future new title.

Newsweek, also, said, at the time, that the royal-born Prince, instead, praised the late Princess Diana days after Queen Elizabeth II’s announcement. He talked about his mother’s work on HIV during a podcast engagement for the “Tackle HIV campaign.”
