Princess Diana was, reportedly, more worried for Prince William than she ever was for Prince Harry.

According to dream analyst Joan Hanger, Princess Diana told her about her concerns that royal protocol could drive a wedge between Prince William and Prince Harry.

“She did have worries about the boys, whether they’d be able to do work with the protocol of the palace. She said it’s not easy to do that. She’d say little things like that now and then. She was giving them as much advice as she could, but she had that on her mind a lot. She was nervous about William handling it because he'd have to follow these rules and have to conform to the protocol,” Hanger told New Idea.

Growing up, Prince William already became aware of the important role that he would place in the monarchy. And three weeks before the Princess of Wales died, she and Hanger were still talking on the phone.

“She would ring me on the weekends because that’s when she’d be very lonely. She worried about William becoming a king one day and what really saddened her was that she couldn’t talk about it with Charles because she really didn’t have much say in the boys’ upbringing after the divorce,” she said.

Princess Diana, reportedly, only had a say in Prince William and Prince Harry’s upbringing every time they were with her. And even the Queen Mother cut the time that they spent together before the Princess of Wales died.

In order to get her thoughts and feelings off her chest, Princess Diana wrote in her diaries. Hanger said that life was so difficult for the late royal because she was very lonely.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s death impacted her sons’ lives negatively. But it took longer for Prince Harry to move on from his mom’s demise.

Since he was still very young when his mom died, Prince Harry reportedly grew up without a mother figure in his life. He only relied on Queen Elizabeth, but she couldn’t have been a mother to her grandson.

Over the years, Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship also deteriorated. But Hanger said that the royal siblings will always love each other.

“However, I think the wives have come in the way. I think that’s what happened. Harry adored Kate – they were such a terrific threesome,” she said.

But after Meghan Markle got into the picture, she and Prince Harry started creating their own bubble away from the Cambridges and the royal family.
