Kate Middleton’s mom, Carole Middleton may receive an important role once her daughter is crown as queen consort.

According to Express, it is possible for Carole to be known as the queen mother for the simple reason that she is the mother of the queen consort. A queen mother is also known as a dowager queen.

A queen consort, on the other hand, is the wife of a ruling king. In the future, Prince William will be crowned as the king of Britain.

According to royal expert Marlene Koenig, Middleton may also be known as Queen Catherine and not as queen consort. But her role will still be support Prince William in his duties as the king, which includes attending engagements and traveling to different parts of the world.

“Unless decided otherwise, a queen consort is crowned with the king, in a similar but simpler ceremony. If the new Sovereign is a Queen, her consort is not crowned or anointed at the coronation ceremony,” Koenig said.

The royal expert also said that when Prince George becomes king, Middleton will be known as the queen mother. Since Carole is not a royal by blood, it is unlikely for her to receive the title of the queen mother.

But she may be referred to as the mother of the queen consort or as the mother of Queen Catherine in the coming years.

Meanwhile, Carole also made headlines this week after Camilla Parker Bowles’ cruel nickname to her was revealed. When Camilla first met the Middletons years ago, she reportedly referred to them as “Meet the Fockers.”

The statement was a nod to the Hollywood comedy starring Robert de Niro and Dustin Hoffman. In the film, the in-laws meet for the first time and things didn’t go as well as they had hoped.

According to Daily Mail, there have also been tensions between Carole and Camilla for years. Following the birth of Prince George, there was a power struggle between the two grandmothers.

Prince Charles and Camilla expressed their desire to see more of their grandson because Prince William, Middleton, and Prince George were always with Carole’s side of the family.

While Carole and Michael traveled regularly with their eldest grandchild, Prince Charles grew increasingly frustrated that he couldn’t even see Prince George.

“Carole has rather taken over, dictating when George naps, when and what he eats. All in all, behaving like she’s Queen Carole,” a source said.
