Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are allegedly asking for a 20-week maternity and paternity leave following the birth of their daughter, Lilibet Diana.

Even though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no longer considered as working royals, they still have plenty of things on their plate.

After all, Prince Harry and Markle have signed multi-year deals with Netflix and Spotify. And they also have other business ventures elsewhere.

However, in its July 5 issue, Globe is slamming the couple for wanting such a lengthy maternity and paternity break.

“How in the world does this moneybags couple need time off their so-called work – the few hours a week they’re required to do something – when they never seem to break a sweat and their sole job appears to be being famous,” tabloid claimed.

The tabloid also attacked Markle for seeking the help of her mom, Doria Ragland, and her nannies to look after her two children.

And they also questioned the salary that the couple is getting from the few hours that they allot to their jobs.

“Let’s face it, Harry and Meghan would be nobodies without the celebrity their royal titles give them. Harry gets paid big bucks for them to use his name and likeness and he may have to spend a few hours at events or at mass meetings at the company’s San Francisco digs,” the source said.

However, it seems that the tabloid is just attacking the couple for no reason at all.

All pregnant mothers are given ample time to be with their babies after they give birth. So, it’s not unusual for Markle to take a lengthy break from her jobs.

As for Prince Harry, it hasn’t been confirmed whether he’s going to have a paternity leave or not.

The Duke of Sussex is currently in the United Kingdom to attend Princess Diana’s memorial next month.

Prince Harry arrived in the UK a few days earlier so that he could quarantine first before reuniting with Prince William.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle also made headlines recently after it was revealed that they used different names on Lili’s birth certificate.

In Lili’s birth certificate, Markle’s name is listed as Rachel Meghan Markle.

But on her son, Archie’s birth certificate, Markle’s name was listed as Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex.

The change in her name has to do with Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to quit their royal duties last year.
