Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are being criticized for giving their daughter the name Lilibet, which is inspired by Queen Elizabeth.

In its June 21 issue, Woman’s Day claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t ask the queen’s permission to give their daughter the name Lilibet.

And to make things worse, Prince Harry and Markle didn’t also inform the queen and the royal family that their daughter had already been born until after 48 hours.

“Harry and Meghan kept Lili’s arrival a secret for 48 hours before sending out a press release. The palace had no idea it was coming and had to scramble on Sunday evening to pull together congratulatory statements of their own. It’s little wonder the couple neglected to include the traditional line in their birth announcement,” the source said.

In the official announcement, there was no mention that the queen and Prince Charles have been informed about the arrival of their daughter because they weren’t.

Meanwhile, the source added that Prince William and Princess Anne are especially baffled by the couple’s name of choice.

After all, Prince Harry and Markle have done everything that they can to distance themselves from the royal family. But they decided to call their daughter Lilibet Diana, as a tribute to two of the most famous members of the British clan.

“It makes no sense. William and Anne are protective of Her Majesty and feel it’s two-faced and disrespectful. Charles is more positive about it. He hopes it’s a sign Harry and Meghan are ready to extend an olive branch,” the source said.

Royal critics aren’t also thrilled with Prince Harry and Markle’s choice of name. After all, Lilibet is the queen’s nickname, and this is how the late Prince Philip referred to her when she was still alive.

In fact, the queen wrote a letter to Prince Philip which she left on his coffin and signed it with her nickname.

So, for Prince Harry and Markle to choose the name for their non-royal daughter is allegedly ludicrous.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. No one knows for sure how the queen, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Princess Anne feel about Prince Harry and Markle’s name of choice.

A source for the couple also confirmed that the queen was informed about the name before Lili was born.
