Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are allegedly cutting their list of friends based on money, power, and influence.
In its June 14 issue, Globe claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want to cut ties with A-listers that don’t do them any good. And the only people that they want to remain friends with are the Obamas, the Clooneys, Katharine McPhee, and David Foster.
“At this point, it’s quality over quantity. It comes down to selecting those who are most compatible with their lifestyle, views, and philosophies. And then shunning the people who don’t make the cut,” the source said.
The insider also claimed that Markle and Prince Harry did extensive research on which A-listers they should keep in their circle. And the couple allegedly came to the conclusion that they cannot be associated with anyone whose reputation has been tainted by any form of scandal.
With this, the source once again pitted Markle and Prince Harry against Prince William and Kate Middleton by saying that the Cambridges are off the list.
Additionally, Princess Beatrice is also a goner because of how she upstaged the couple’s third anniversary with her pregnancy announcement.
“Meghan was livid because she hates to share the spotlight and Bea’s baby news created a bigger buzz. But it was all about payback. Beatrice feels Meghan deliberately upstaged her sister Eugenie’s wedding by announcing she was pregnant at the event,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. There is no proof that Prince Harry and Markle are choosing their friends based on their money, power, and influence.
It is not also true that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have cut ties with Prince William and Middleton. If they did, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wouldn’t have congratulated the couple following the arrival of their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
On their official Instagram account, the Cambridges shared an adorable black and white photo of Prince Harry and Markle with their 2-year-old son, Archie.
As for Prince Harry and Markle’s relationship with Princess Beatrice, it seems that everything is going well for them.
It is unlikely for Princess Beatrice to have deliberately tried to upstage the couple on their anniversary. After all, there is also no proof that Markle did the same thing years ago at Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank.
