Queen Elizabeth won’t be celebrating Christmas with the royal family in Sandringham.
Last week, Buckingham Palace announced that the queen and Prince Philip will stay at Windsor Castle until the end of the year.
This means that the royal couple will also be celebrating Christmas at Windsor Castle and not in Sandringham.
But just a few days ago, the British government, reportedly, announced that families living in different households can reunite for 5 days during the holiday season.
As such, New Idea claimed that the queen might have to decide which of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she would like to celebrate with.
In the tabloid’s Dec. 14 issue, they claimed that it’s unlikely for the queen to invite Prince William and Kate Middleton to join her at Windsor Castle on Christmas Day.
After all, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have two kids that are currently in school. As such, Prince George and Princess Charlotte could cause health problems to the queen and Prince Philip since they are exposed to other children and school staff almost every day.
The tabloid also alleged that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles won’t be spending Christmas at Windsor Castle.
After all, Clarence House already announced that the royal couple will celebrate the occasion at Highgrove House.
However, the tabloid insisted that there’s a possibility that the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall might visit the queen and Prince Philip sometime before or after Christmas Day.
It is also unlikely for the queen to celebrate Christmas with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The couple just bought a house in Santa Barbara, and they will celebrate Christmas there with their son, Archie, and Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland.
As of late, Buckingham Palace has not commented on whether the queen is really thinking which royal family member she would invite over for the holidays.
After all, the queen is already 94 and Prince Philip is 99. As such, they are at high-risk to get infected by the deadly virus.
Two other members of the queen’s immediate family tested positive for COVID-19.
In March, Clarence House revealed that Prince Charles is sick with the virus. But before his 14-day quarantine ended, he was already back at work.
A month later, Prince William also tested positive for COVID-19. However, Kensington Palace stayed mum on the diagnosis.
The public only found out about it last month when Prince William confessed that he also got sick.
