Everyone who has watched the spy thriller Mr. & Mrs. Smith will accept what a sizzling chemistry Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had in the film. However, it was Nicole Kidman who was the first choice for this hit film.
It has been around 15 years since the spy thriller Mr. & Mrs. was released. This 2005 film had some of the finest performances of Pitt and Jolie and is known for the pair's hot on-screen chemistry.
However, it is difficult to believe that the Maleficent star was not the initial choice for this movie. The role was first offered to another fine Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman. The Aussie actress, though, was unable to commit for the project as she was tied up with the shooting of Stepford Wives and so Jolie was brought in.
Kidman had to drop out of the project as there was a scheduling issue between this film and the other one. Doug Liman, the director of the film started searching for a new combination of Hollywood stars such as Catherine Zeta-Jones and Will Smith and Cate Blanchett and Johnny Depp.
Nothing though worked out, WION reports. Finally, he opted for Jolie and the Troy star began to show interest in the film again and the rest is history. The couple started dating each other, lived together, got married, have six children, and are now divorced.
It is interesting to note that Angelina Jolie has mentioned that both Pitt and she would enjoy being a part of the film’s sequel if the script was good. It seems Nicole Kidman’s loss became Jolie’s gain as the film was a smash hit.
Meanwhile, Jolie and Pitt split in 2016. The duo dated for quite some time after the Hollywood hunk’s divorce from Jennifer Aniston. The couple shares six children and all of them live with Jolie.
Pitt, though, has been allotted sufficient time to bond with their children. All these developments are reportedly part of their divorce proceedings
It is also being said that Jolie is getting frustrated amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Reports have it that the actress wishes to have some time off her usual responsibilities.
There have been also stories about how the Maleficent star wants to relocate to Europe with all her children. An anonymous insider claims that Jolie is “stir-crazy” as she cannot travel now. The source also added the actress requires “me” time.
Angelina Jolie is allegedly irritated with the happenings in Los Angeles and needs a short break. However, it is alleged that Brad Pitt does not want her to relocate to Europe with their kids, Koimoi.com reports.
