Sophie, Countess of Wessex, has recently received praise for her skills and character as a working royal. Aside from being described as “hard-working,” she is also said to be a “valued member” of the British Royal Family.
Express UK said royal commentator Lee Cohen made the claims during an exclusive engagement with them. As reported, he shared his thoughts about Prince Edward’s wife as he discussed contrasts between her and Meghan Markle.
The expert told the outlet that the Countess of Wessex, similar to the Duchess of Sussex, did not “come from royalty.” He even recalled that she has a background in public relations (PR), which he noted to be "very useful" in her role within the royal Firm.
Cohen continued in the exchange that Sophie, Countess of Wessex has skills in “relationships," as well as in "messaging.” He consequently stated that she used these things “to become a very good and valued member” of the British Royal Family.
The publication later shared that the royal commentator also praised the daughter-in-law of Queen Elizabeth II. As noted, he deemed her “hard-working,” adding that she has a natural empathy and “warmth.”
The expert talked about Queen Consort Camilla’s relatability, as well, during the exchange. He suggested the “same can be said” for the Earl of Wessex's wife, as per the outlet.
Us Weekly recalls in a report that Sophie, Countess of Wessex, stopped working in public relations three years after her wedding to Prince Edward. She has since become a full-time working royal alongside her husband, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
The publication notes in the same piece that the royal couple first met in 1987. At the time, it is said that she was still working at Capital Radio as a press officer.
But, reportedly, it was not until six years later that they began their relationship after reconnecting in 1993.
The Earl of Wessex asked for the Countess of Wessex's hand in marriage in late 1998. They officially tied the knot at St. George's Chapel in June of the following year.
Elsewhere in the report from Express UK, published Saturday, Lee Cohen claimed that Sophie, Countess of Wessex, “stepped in” to fill the “void” following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s exit earlier in 2020. He added that the working royal also did so, in some cases, “to smooth over the tensions between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family.”
