Prince Harry will not return to the United Kingdom for the Service of Thanksgiving Event later this month. This has led many individuals to criticize the royal-born Prince, with a royal commentator saying that he is “out of touch with reality.”

Express UK reported that the assertions came from Matt de Groot. He spoke with the Australian morning show “Sunrise,” adding that the decision of the Duke of Sussex might have stemmed from his security demands.

He consequently deemed the issue involving security as “bad advice.” He even claimed that the former working royal is “being petty,” and that he is making a “bad choice.”

The royal expert continued that Prince Harry, as well as Meghan Markle, spend “one half of their life talking” about having a private life. They have emphasized their determination to “stay away from the public eye.” However, they “spend the other half of their life selling their story to the highest bidder.”

Matt de Groot, also, pointed out that the Duke of Sussex wants to step away from the British Royal Family. But, even so, he still “wants the royal protection,” without reportedly realizing that he can fly back to his home country and hire his own security.

The expert, later on, noted that “every move [the youngest Wales prince] makes, every piece of advice they give, and every statement he makes publicly,” only pushes him “further away” from the person he used to be three years ago. “He is making blunder after blunder.”

The statements come after Prince Harry confirmed via his spokesperson that he would miss the service honoring the life of Prince Philip on March 29. USA Today said that the private event will take place at Westminster Abbey, and it will be utilized to memorialize the Queen’s late husband, who passed away in April 2021.

The confirmation did not disclose any details, though, as to why the Duke of Sussex, as well as his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, would not be attending the special service. But, reports recalled that the royal-born Prince previously expressed his hesitation to return to the United Kingdom due to security concerns.

Prince Harry’s legal camp shared that the former working royal and the rest of his family are unable to fly back to his home country due to the lack of necessary police protection. The British government noted that he is no longer entitled to taxpayer-funded protection because he is no longer a working member of the monarchy.

But, the Duke of Sussex argued that he wants to personally pay for the security, adding that the threat level against him and his family remains high.
