Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Slammed For Not Celebrating Christmas With Queen Elizabeth, Royal Family
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do not have any plans to celebrate Christmas with Queen Elizabeth and the royal family.
Even though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not yet made a final decision on the matter, one source is convinced that it’s almost guaranteed that they won’t travel to the United Kingdom to reunite with the royals.
While speaking with Page Six, the unnamed royal source said that there’s so much logistics that go into planning an overseas trip. So, if Prince Harry and Markle had plans to celebrate Christmas with the queen, the monarch would’ve already known about it.
The fact that there are no preparations for the arrival of Prince Harry, Markle, and their two children, only goes to show that they might have already rejected the queen’s invitation.
According to the source, there was some expectation that the Sussexes would consider celebrating Christmas with the royal family. After all, this will be the queen’s first Christmas without her husband, Prince Philip.
However, the source thinks that Prince Harry and Markle are thinking of themselves once again that’s why they refused to return to the United Kingdom.
“I think everyone understands there will be a frenzy when they both come back to the UK, but they need to rip the [Band-Aid] off and get on with it,” the source said.
Last year, Prince Harry and Markle did not also celebrate Christmas with the royal family but that was understandable due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But this time around, there was hope for them to finally reunite with the monarch especially following the latter’s health scare.
For now, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are busy establishing themselves in the United States. Even though it’s been almost two years since the couple relocated there, a royal commentator said that the couple still hasn’t found their footing.
“They’re so far from doing that at the moment. They just seem to be fighting so many battles on so many levels. They’re still trying to work out where they are. It’s a tricky business,” Russell Myers said on Pod Save the Queen podcast.
Markle was recently forced to apologize to the court after she claimed to have forgotten important details regarding her involvement in Omid Scobie’s book, Finding Freedom. As it turns out, Markle contributed to the book indirectly despite the author’s constant denial.
