Ellen Pompeo has allegedly taken Patrick Dempsey’s side amid reports that he terrorized the set of Grey’s Anatomy.

Last week, author Lynette Rice revealed in her book How to Save A Life: The Inside Story of Grey’s Anatomy that Dempsey left the hit ABC series he had problems with the HR staff.

Executive producer James Parriott added that some cast members had PTSD on set because of Dempsey.

But despite all the criticisms, Woman’s Day claimed that Pompeo believes that Dempsey was a wonderful co-star and friend.

“Ellen’s so tired of rumors that she had problems with Patrick. She understands how words can be twisted, but she’s furious that he’s under attack when he gave so much for that show. It would be nothing without him and, sure, if he got a bit impatient towards the end, so what? He was nothing but professional, kind, and a total sweetheart to her,” the source said.

The insider also said that Pompeo won’t let other people destroy Dempsey’s legacy on the show just because of a thoughtless comment.

However, Grey’s Anatomy is also choosing her battles wisely because she doesn’t want others to think that she’s defending Dempsey because they were once again linked to each other recently.

The tabloid also claimed that Pompeo had problems in her marriage to Chris Ivery and it’s all because of Dempsey. After all, Ivery needed time to adjust to seeing his wife kiss other men on the show.

“That beach photo actually brought a lot of issues with their marriage to the surface. And not kissing Patrick on screen has been a huge help. She and Chris had a great summer together, so she’s comfortable speaking out in Patrick’s defense if she has to,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. After all, Pompeo didn’t defend Dempsey against the criticisms recently.

In the past, Pompeo defended Dempsey on multiple occasions. But she has stayed mum on the recent claims of PTSD harassment.

It’s not also true that Pompeo and Ivery’s marriage was affected by the actress’s on-screen romance with Dempsey. After all, the co-stars were never romantically linked to each other in real life.

By the looks of it, the tabloid is just making up this story to hype up Pompeo and Dempsey’s relationship, which was seemingly strengthened by their recent TV reunion.
