Meghan Markle Returning To UK For Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, Won’t Join Royals On The Balcony?
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry allegedly accepted Queen Elizabeth’s invitation to attend her upcoming Platinum Jubilee in the United Kingdom.
In its July 12 issue, New Idea claimed that the queen wants her grandson to be at the special event. And she knew that the only way for Prince Harry to accept her invitation if she would also ask Markle to join.
However, Prince Harry hasn’t told his wife about the one condition that the queen had for them. And that is, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex won’t be joining the other members of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
“Harry accepted his grandmother’s invitation, but he knew Meghan wouldn’t be pleased about the queen’s terms and conditions. As soon as he relayed the conversation to Meghan, there was a response, sort of like, ‘over my dead body.’ She thinks there’s no point in going if they can’t be a part of the balcony scene,” the source said.
Markle allegedly wants to be a part of the balcony scene because this is what will be shown on television. And being with the other members of the royal family will show that she and Prince Harry are still very much a part of the circle.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. The queen has not invited Prince Harry and Markle to her Platinum Jubilee.
And even if she did invite the couple, it’s unlikely for them to attend the event together because they have two young children.
Additionally, if Prince Harry and Markle would attend, they won’t insist on being a part of the balcony scene because they are no longer considered as senior working royals.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry just made an appearance in the United Kingdom last week when he joined Prince William at the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue.
The event was held on July 1 and the brothers weren’t joined by their wives.
Prince Harry also flew to the country to attend Prince Philip’s funeral in April. Once again, he wasn’t joined by Markle, who was pregnant at the time.
Markle has not set foot in the U.K. since she quit The Firm last year. So, it’s unlikely for her to make a comeback anytime soon.
