Fans have been anticipating the release of Stranger Things season 4, the good thing is that they’ve been getting updates on what’s coming ahead despite the delay. For instance, one cast member provided insight on what was stored in the new chapter of the sci-fi horror series.

In a recent interview with Collider, Sadie Sink discussed what fans can expect in Stranger Things season 4. But, before diving into what lies ahead, the actress, who plays the role of Max, talked about the changes in filming schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic first.

Sink said they’ve started production even before the pandemic, but they had to stop when the health crisis hits the globe. When they return to work several months after the hiatus, she said “things were completely different.”

The actress mentioned the challenges brought by the pandemic, saying they had to adjust to the new rules and regulations implemented on the set. The good news is that production resumed and filming for the fourth installment is almost done.

After talking about the challenges of filming the new season, Sink goes on to discuss what to anticipate in the story. The actress assured that while the wait is longer than usual, the next chapter is going to be the biggest one yet for the sci-fi horror.

“The scale of the show just gets bigger and bigger each year so yeah, it’s just been really incredible to see where they’re going with the storyline. It’s really amazing this year. And just how the stakes are just so much higher. Higher than they’ve ever been,” Sink teased.

Sink’s character was introduced in season 2, along with her brother Billy (Dacre Montgomery). However, the latter’s arc concluded in season 3, which means changes are coming in Max’s storyline. She’s going to deal with the loss of her brother in Stranger Things season 4.

As for what else is coming, Sheriff Jim Hopper’s (David Harbour) fate will be explored in the new chapter. The season 3 cliffhanger made fans believed that he’s already dead, but it was later on revealed that he’s being held in a Russian prison.

Stranger Things season 4 is expected to explore what happened to Hopper and why he ended up in Russian prison. In addition, it will likely address other loose ends in the third installment. Also, the new chapter introduces new cast members Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Tom Wlaschiha.

Stranger Things season 4 release date has yet to be revealed.
