Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are allegedly struggling to maintain their popularity due to the recent controversies that they have been in as of late. A royal expert claims that audiences in the United Kingdom and the United States are complaining of "Sussex fatigue". The couple is reportedly trying to regain what they've once had.

Markle and Prince Harry’s recent interviews attacking the Royal Family are said to be the major reason why viewers have been complaining of “Sussex fatigue.” The fire ignited when the couple allegedly accused BBC of libel over the claim that they didn’t inform Queen Elizabeth II they're naming their second daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, after her.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex used Lilibet, Her Majesty’s nickname. In a previous report, BBC noted that Markle and Prince Harry hadn’t asked the Queen that they're using the name for their second born. However, the couple responded to the claim and insisted that the news is not true at all. This has led to more controversy and confusion.

"I think they've got into a very difficult stream and they are trying to claw back their popularity," royal biographer Angela Levin said during an interview with talkRadio.

According to Levin, the couple dropped hugely in the UK and the US because people are “fed up with them.” The royal expert also mentions the “Sussex fatigue” the audiences have been feeling since they can only keep up the publicity for some time. She added that the Duke and Duchess’ tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey received mixed reactions from UK viewers.

Markle and Prince Harry opened up the difficulties they’ve encountered while being part of the Royal Family. The couple made a series of claims, such as Buckingham Palace ignoring mental health support and refusing to correct false tabloid reports. At the time, the Duchess felt suicidal while pregnant with their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Also, the two revealed that an unnamed Royal Family expressed concern over the skin color of their unborn son. Shortly after this, Prince Harry had more interviews talking about the monarchy. He accused them of total neglect and criticized his father’s, Prince Charles, parenting skills, which he revealed in his Apple TV+ series with Oprah.

Although the Duke of Sussex was praised for opening up about his mental health, the allegations he made against the Firm have been less well-received. Moreover, their tell-all interview with Oprah has been criticized because his later grandfather, Prince Philip, was in the hospital at that time. So, now, many questions why they named their daughter Lilibet considering the claims they’ve made before.
