Meghan Markle allegedly reached out to Kate Middleton, hoping that she could heal the rift between the royals. A source claimed that the Duchess of Sussex attempted to have a “secret talk” with the Duchess of Cambridge to discuss what they can do to set things straight in the family. However, Prince William’s wife reportedly declined and chose to stay out of the row.

According to the insider, Markle tried to talk to Middleton in secret to smooth things between them and win her over. But then, the Duchess of Cambridge allegedly refused to meet her in private because she wanted to stay out of Markle and Prince Harry’s rift from the Firm. She also wants to maintain peace amidst the pain surrounding the Royal family.

“Meghan's fearful of losing her title, and the repercussions of Harry's statements about the royals in his recent Apple TV+ documentary with Oprah Winfrey,” the source told Heat Magazine.

The insider also pointed out that the Duchess of Sussex knows that having Middleton on their side is the only hope they have of “smoothing things over with the family.”

Meanwhile, the source said that one of the major reasons why the Duchess of Cambridge wanted to stay out of the secret talks is because she fears that anything she says could be used against her. Then, the insider asserted that Middleton advised both Markle and Prince Harry to “stop once and for all with the public outbursts.”

It can be recalled that the Duke of Sussex previously talked about his life within the Royal Family. Prince Harry confessed he struggled to cope with anxiety and was traumatized after his mother’s, Princess Diana, death.

Furthermore, he revealed that he wanted to stop the cycle of the trauma he experienced, which was one of the factors why he stepped back from the Firm.

Prince Harry and Markle announced their decision to depart as the senior members of the Royal Family in 2020. Along with that, they revealed their plans in splitting their time between the United Kingdom and North America, as well as becoming financially independent. Despite their exit, the Duke of Sussex is still expected to fulfill some of his duties.

For instance, he is coming back to the UK in July to unveil the statue of Princess Diana, something that he and his brother Prince William have been working on. Despite the rumors about their strained relationship, the brothers will attend the exhibit to pay an appropriate tribute to their late mother. The statue will be placed in Buckingham Palace's Sunken Garden.
