Prince William will not easily let his sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, off the hook for dragging his wife, Kate Middleton, into the recent royal controversy, where the Duchess of Sussex told the world that the Duchess of Cambridge made her cry before her wedding to Prince Harry.

A source said that it will be hard for William and Harry to "come back from this" latest strain in their relationship because of what has been said in the interview. The source also said that the Duke of Cambridge could likely bear a grudge for a "very long time" as he was angry and upset over the allegations.

But Meghan did tell Winfrey that the matter with Kate has been resolved and that her sister-in-law has apologized to her with flowers. The Duchess of Sussex also told the TV talk show host that Kate is a good person and that she didn't want to say anything disparaging against sister-in-law.

Meghan detailed their misunderstanding because the opposite was reported in the press. The story came out in 2019, which stated that Meghan made Kate cry. The duchess told Winfrey that it was actually the other way around.

It comes as William and Kate had their first public engagement since the interview aired. The Cambridges were visiting a school in London, as students have returned to in-person classes, when he was asked by a member of the press about the Sussex pair's TV interview.

William said that he has not yet spoken to Harry but he will do so in due time. The duke also stated that, "we are very much not a racist family," to debunk Meghan's suggestion that her son's skin color was something that the family talked about. The Sussexes refused to name who among the royals asked about Archie's "dark skin."

Meanwhile, body language expert Judi James said that William showed inner conflict and naked anger during that encounter with the press. He also appeared to want to set the record straight so he decided to respond to the press. He did so by making eye contact when he told them that he has yet to speak with Harry.

James also said that William seemed to laugh at the question about his brother though it was inaudible in the video. His reaction was similar to Charles, who simply chuckled and then walked away when a journalist asked what he thought of Harry and Meghan's interview during a separate royal engagement.
