A photo of Meghan Markle with her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, has emerged online and will likely strike a nerve with the Duchess of Sussex as she, allegedly, ponders about her old life if her first marriage had not ended.

New Idea has the photo of Meghan with her ex-husband, which appears to be taken during a holiday. The ex-couple is seen lounging on a cosy couch at a time when Meghan was a lot younger while Engelson is years beyond her age.

According to a source, Meghan doesn't regret that her marriage to Engelson didn't last. But the former TV star has moments where she thinks about her very simple and straightforward first marriage.

Apparently, it isn't just because Meghan is married to a royal that makes her life complicated. Part of her struggles involves Prince Harry, who needs some coaching creatively for their projects and deals with Netflix and Spotify.

The source said Meghan didn't have this problem with Trevor because she could spend hours brainstorming with him and he's used to the ins and outs of Hollywood. The insider added that Harry is not aware of these sentiments from his wife, which will likely hurt the Duke of Sussex.

The news comes as Meghan will, allegedly, not be coming home with Harry this June 2021 for the Trooping the Colour event with the royal family. According to sources, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the call to "avoid a diplomatic drama" more than anything else.

Harry and Meghan felt that if the duchess were to return, then people would be looking for signs or clues in her interactions with the royal family. It happened during their final royal engagement at the Commonwealth Service in March 2020. Such drama could get in the way of the real reason why they are celebrating, considering that this will be the first public event for the Queen after canceling most of their activities in 2020 due to the pandemic.

But the decision has some critics saying that it is actually a snub of Queen Elizabeth's invitation, who has asked Harry and Meghan to bring their son, Archie Harrison. Royal commentators Angela Levin and Mike Graham said that the Sussexes are looking for excuses not the bring their son back to London. Harry and Meghan are overprotective of Archie's privacy but the experts also said that in trying to shield their son, they are also excluding the royal family from his life. (Business Times)
