In an interview with ELLE, the actress revealed that she figured out that social media platforms are an essential tool to spread awareness. She noted that she realized this during the photoshoot of a magazine cover last year.

Lopez said that her twin kids, Maximilian David Muñiz and Emme Maribel Muñiz, who are both 12 years old, inspired her to speak up amid protest. The actress gave the credit to her son David to be precise, who encouraged her to speak against racial injustice.

The Maid in Manhattan star said that his son ensured that she knows the power she has, and it is important to use it. She further said that it was indeed an insightful thought coming from a 12-year-old boy. The actress explained that this was the moment in her life when she realized that she has been raising her kids right.

"It was one of those parenting moments when you're like 'Oh maybe I'm raising a conscientious, kind, loving kid here," she expressed the proud moment. The actress and her fiance Alex Rodriguez were spotted together in Los Angeles during the demonstration.

The couple covered their faces with masks as per the safety measures while they were recognizable. They marched together with the crowd while they had signs made by their children, and it read, "Black Lives Matter."

There was another signboard on which the kids wrote, "Let's Get Loud for Black Lives Matter" The actress admitted that she is not fond of attending events with a big crowd. However, it was essential to use her voice to empower the social issue.

Moreover, Lopez said that she was glad to see a huge number of young crowd protesting for Black Lives Matter. However, the actress acknowledged her profession and said that she is not an authority to look up to for anything.

On the other hand, she also said that the way she can contribute is to "make things better." Lopez further said that she always strives to ensure that nobody gets hurt and everyone is treated in a fair manner.
