In an exclusive interview with The Sun, which Duane Chapman posted to his verified social media accounts, the 67-year-old bounty hunter revealed that he got engaged to girlfriend Francie Frane. The tweet was accompanied by pictures of the couple showing off their engagement ring.

The story suggests Chapman got down on one knee and popped the question at their Colorado-based home in a romantic candlelit proposal. Frane, 51, said she wasn't expecting it at all. Ahead of this news, Chapman had confirmed that they were dating.

Fox News also confirmed the former bail bondsman's engagement to girlfriend Francie Frane. A spokesperson for Chapman told the news channel that the couple is very happy and excited about spending their lives together.

During their interview with The Sun, the Chapman and Frane divulged details about how he popped the question. Chapman chose a romantic candlelit proposal before dinner at their Colorado home, where the couple has been quarantining together amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Frane told the outlet that the proposal was completely unexpected. When she returned after picking up some food, she saw that Chapman had all the lights switched off with just a few lights on, and some candles lit. When Frane came in she was impressed by the awe-inspiring setting.

Come in, sit down because I need to talk to you, Chapman told her. Frane went into the kitchen to put all the food and came in and was completely surprised when Chapman said God brought her into his life and he didn't want to spend one moment of it without her.

After saying that, he reportedly got down on one knee and asked Frane if she would spend the rest of her life with him. He revealed that they plan to tie the knot as soon as the coronavirus lockdown come to end and it will be a lavish ceremony attended by all 12 of his kids, her two sons, and their grandchildren will attend as well.

Chapman wants it to be the biggest wedding their ever been, describing it as one hell of a party. He said he would talk Francie into opening the guest list up to fans.

Chapman's wife, Beth, succumbed to cancer at age 51 in June last year. The pair featured in popular reality series called Dog the Bounty Hunter, raising 12 children together and splitting their time between their Hawaii and Colorado homes. While it may seem too soon after the death of Beth to get engaged, the couple said they bonded over their mutual heartbreak.
