Johnny Depp is, without a doubt, one of the most popular actors of his generation. In fact, the ex-husband of Amber Heard starred in various hit films such as Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Alice in Wonderland among others. However, Johnny has become a household name when he caught the hearts of many portraying Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Johnny Depp would no longer play his iconic character

However, recent reports claimed that Johnny Depp is very unlikely to appear in the upcoming sixth installment of the popular movie series. Disney, reportedly, rejected the idea of the 57-year-old actor appearing on the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

To recall, avid followers of the veteran star have been asking Disney to recast Johnny Depp. But, after he lost a court case against a British newspaper that called him a “wife-beater,” things may not go as they expected. Despite this, Disney believes that Johnny Depp’s avid followers would never forget his iconic role since that is the only character that he portrayed multiple times.

The news came just a few weeks after Warner Bros. confirmed that Johnny Depp is no longer part of the Fantastic Beasts film series. However, there have been speculations that Disney is eyeing Ryan Reynolds to be Johnny Depp’s replacement for the forthcoming sixth Pirates of the Caribbean film.

Daniel Richtman even divulged, as per Daily Express, that the husband of Blake Lively would be portraying the role in the future sequels. While the American entertainment conglomerate has yet to confirm these rumors, some fans think this is highly possible since the “Deadpool” star is not busy these days.

Johnny Depp could be Robert Pattinson’s greatest nemesis

Though avid supporters of the actor would not see him in another Pirates of the Caribbean movie, rumors are rife that Johnny Depp would appear in the imminent The Batman film. Numerous DC fans have been clamoring about the possibility of Johnny Depp playing as The Joker in The Batman Universe.

In fact, digital artist Jakub Maslowski created a poster of Johnny Depp looking like a legit DC Comics villain. In the material he posted on Instagram, the former partner of Amber Heard was seen wearing a green top with a red-violet coat. Johnny, also, donned the iconic Joker makeup, which made him appear very similar to the mutant anti-hero.

It remains to be seen if Johnny Depp would really join Robert Pattinson in the upcoming Batman movie, which is expected to be the first installment in a new trilogy. Matt Reeves was confirmed to direct it. Aside from Kristen Stewart’s ex-boyfriend, other artists confirmed to be part of the cast include Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jayme Lawson as Bella Real, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Paul Dano as the Riddler and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.
