Ellen DeGeneres has, allegedly, decided to be friends with two controversial comedians but for her own benefit.

In its Dec. 21 issue, National Enquirer claimed that DeGeneres has forged a close bond with Sarah Silverman and Chelsea Handler. And both comedians appeared in the Ellen Show recently.

A source for the tabloid said that the three female comedians have been through similar predicaments that’s why they get along well with each other.

Since Silverman and Handler are aware of how challenging it is to be bullied online, they think it’s sickening how critics are treating DeGeneres.

The insider said that after DeGeneres found out about Silverman and Chandler’s stand, she decided to invite them on her show as part of her strategic move.

However, DeGeneres’ decision to become friends with the two comedians is once again being criticized by the public.

After all, Portia de Rossi’s wife didn’t like to associate herself with controversial comedians before she faced a backlash from former employees and other critics.

However, DeGeneres is, allegedly, more focused on repairing her reputation. And if this means using Silverman and Chandler to protect her, she would gladly be friends with them.

The source said that DeGeneres’ goal is to make sure that she has the support of other comedians so can defend her the next time she gets attacked.

Last summer, only a few people came to DeGeneres’ defense after she was accused of being a mean girl.

Other than her wife, Katy Perry and Ashton Kutcher were just some of the celebrities that showed their support for the funny woman.

Jennifer Aniston and Michelle Obama, who is very close to DeGeneres stayed mum on the issue.

Meanwhile, DeGeneres also made headlines this week after she revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19.

On her Twitter account, she revealed that all of the people that she came into contact with have been notified.

She also said that she’s following all proper CDC guidelines and assured her millions of fans that she’s doing fine.

A spokesperson for Telepictures also told NPR that the production for Ellen Show has been put on hold until January.

Ellen Show premiered last September with DeGeneres as the only person on set. Her guests were featured via huge screens.

But a month later, the production allowed a limited number of guests to watch the show at the studio.

Some of DeGeneres’ guests also went to the studio, while others were interviewed from the comfort of their homes.
