Dai and Popp set out to rescue Maam, who is held captive in the Underground Palace’s prison in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 12. The next episode is called The Collaborative Zapple.

The official preview for Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 12 has been released. The trailer shows Dai and Popp battling the enemies to save Maam.

“The difference in their strengths was clear. Thanks to Crocodine’s sacrifice, Dai and Popp managed to escape. They begin to form a plan to counter Hyunckel’s overwhelming strength. The battle to rescue Maam from her prison in the Underground Palace begins! Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, The Collaborative Zapple,” the official preview text read.

In the previous episode of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, the young hero, Dai, finds out that he and Popp still need to learn the Air Slash technique to properly execute Avan Strash.

Dai remembers his training with Avan and the latter tells him he will learn the Air Slash on the seventh day. He knows that he has only trained for three days with Avan.

Air Slash is considered the greatest Avan Style Sword Technique. He learns that when Earth, Wave, and Air are mastered, Avan Strash unleashes its true potential.

Dai’s current attack is only an incomplete imitation. Hyunckel tells Dai that even he can imitate the Avan Strash. Hyunckel attacks and Dai is left injured. Popp and Maam confront Hyunckel.

When he sees Popp and Maam against him, he tells them that he will be using a secret weapon given by Vearn, the Dark King. It is the ultimate armor that can repel any and all attack spells.

Popp says that he cannot see any armor, but the opponent tells him to look closely. Hyunckel says Amdo, and suddenly his body gets covered by the armor spell. The shield looks impenetrable.

Popp is shocked that his sword is the armor. Hyunckel explains that the Dark Armor Blade is both the great weapon and the ultimate armor. Popp and Maam launch an attack against Hyunckel but it remains to be seen if it is enough.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 12 is releasing on Friday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
