Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to baffle royal experts as to what their royal future is. Despite the pair having severed their ties with the royal family last March 2020, rumors of Prince Harry wanting to retain his Honorable titles remain till this day.

The royal pair will be subjected to a 12-month review since their exit this coming March 2021. This will be the second Sandringham Summit.

In March 2020, the first summit concluded with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ‘HRH’ titles suspended. The couple was also banned from using their ‘SussexRoyal’ brand by the Queen.

Apparently, one of the most shocking aftermaths from the meeting between the senior royals, which included the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry, was the removal of Harry’s honorable military title.

This action made by the Royal Firm gave Harry no other choice. Allegedly, the sixth-in-line to the throne was not happy with the Palace’s decision to remove his Honorable military titles.

The Prince is left with titles he was awarded from his 10-year career in the British Royal Army. Several of the Honorable titles Harry held before stepping down as a working royal are the following; Captain-General of the Royal Marines, Honorary Air Force Commandant of the Royal Air Force Base Honington, and Honorary Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Naval Commands' Small Ships and Diving.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliam believes that Prince Harry is already in talks with the Palace regarding his honorable titles.

Despite the Prince and Meghan’s one-year freedom from the British monarchy's clasp, Harry’s military roles have been left vacant.

Fitzwilliam shares to Express UK that ‘it is possible’ that these titles will be returned to Harry.

"The agreement will be reassessed in a year. It will also involve Harry's military links such as, Captain-General of the Royal Marines, which he greatly prizes, and they have been kept vacant. Therefore, possible that they might be returned to him,” Fitzwilliam said.

It is unsure whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will return to their royal posts after their one-year grace period. Several royal experts speculate that the royal pair will no longer go back and possibly peacefully ‘give up’ their royal titles, including their Duke and Duchess title.

Furthermore, the pair has settled down amicably in California, buying a mansion and handing their UK property for fellow royals Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank to use.
