Prince Harry has suffered a devastating loss after it was announced that his Godmother, Lady Celia Vestey, 71, passed away suddenly.

The Duke of Sussex is rumored to be ‘inconsolable’ after hearing the news and being unable to visit the United Kingdom due to travel restrictions.

Lady Celia Vestey is one of the six godparents Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana chose for Prince Harry ahead of his christening in 1984.

Other godparents of the 6th-in-line to the throne include Charles's cousin Lady Sarah Chatto, Diana's flatmate Carolyn Bartholomew and Charles's friend Gerald Ward.

The cause of death of Prince Harry’s godmother has not been revealed, but in an announcement printed by the Daily Telegraph, Lady Celia Vestey passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved one.

The newspaper's announcement read: "Celia Elizabeth SRN BA. Died suddenly, but peacefully, on Saturday 28th November, aged 71 years.

Prince Harry considered his godparents an important part of his development. Lady Celia Vestey is a good friend of the Queen and a part of her inner circle. She was a big support system for Prince Harry when Princess Diana passed away suddenly.

The Queen is also grieving for the death of her friend and ally. Palace insiders alleged that Her Majesty is taking things slowly following the death of her beloved cousin and now her good friend Lady Vestey.

Prince Harry’s choice of godparents created a huge family row after it was announced that Princess Anne, Prince Charles's younger sister was not to be Harry’s godparent.

Although it seemed only natural for Charles to choose a family member, Anne actually declined the offer and instead chose to go shooting with her then-husband Mark Phillips.

Other royal members were in attendance of Prince Harry’s christening, such as the Queen, the Queen Mother, Prince Philip, and older brother Prince William.

In light of this news, as several of the Queen’s inner circle are passing away, fears over the monarch's health have been at an all-time high.

Fortunately, Queen Elizabeth is well kept in a bubble amidst the pandemic, and although she has chosen to continue working, the engagements she attends to are selected for her.

There are also growing concerns on the Queen’s Christmas plans regarding who is invited or not. It is most likely that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and their son Archie Harrison will be skipping the Queen's festivities again this year.
