Rita Ora’s birthday celebrations aren’t going as planned as the 30-year-old singer has now been made to apologize after holding a party in London that violated the United Kingdom’s health and safety rules when it comes to the global coronavirus pandemic.

People reports that the singer took to her Instagram account to apologize to the public after it was revealed that she and 30 of her friends had a birthday party at the Casa Cruz restaurant in London. The party was held despite government restrictions in place.

In the apology, Ora said that the part was “an error of judgment” that could not be excused. She said that it was just a spur of the moment and that it was only “a small gathering” that she and her friends were attending.

Among the celebrity friends that attended the “small gathering” of 30 people were Rita’s sister Elena Ora, reality star Vas Morgan, and sisters Cara and Poppy Delevingne.

The Sun adds that Ora also said that she was very apologetic for the rules that she had broken. The singer also emphasized that she was also aware that other people would probably be at risk because of her actions.

Ora also expressed her embarrassment about the situation since she claims that she knows all the hard work that healthcare workers and other people on the frontlines have put in to stem the coronavirus's spread.

The publication also said that Ora had paid a £10,000 fine after speaking to authorities that had come to her home after news of her breaking quarantine rules started spreading.

Publications had reported that Ora had flouted lockdown rules to immediate condemnation from the British public. People quoted by tabloids like the sun expressed their frustration at Ora’s actions.

One healthcare worker is quoted as saying that they were frustrated at having to cancel their own celebrations while people like Ora do not follow the rules. People also blasted Ora for thinking that she was above the law, while others simply called her selfish.

Ora joins two other celebrities that have also been condemned by the general public for holding birthday celebrations even in the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic. Kardashian sisters Kendall and Kim were also condemned for their respective parties.

Kendall Jenner’s party was for her 25th birthday and had celebrity guests like The Weeknd, Saweetie, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, Jaden Smith, and Winnie Harlow.

On the other hand, Kim Kardashian West was attacked for a series of tweets where she detailed the preparations for her 40th birthday party at a private island with her family and celebrity friends in attendance.
