Mean Girls was originally released in 2004 and became a blockbuster movie. Lacey Chabert, who portrayed Gretchen Wieners in the film, opened up about her take on the character's future.

In an interview with ET, the 38-year-old actress revealed what the member of Plastics and Regina George's sidekick would do during the ongoing situation. Last month, the cast members of Mean Girls reunited to spread awareness and encourage their fans and followers to vote during the elections.

The cast members were asked about the sequel of Mean Girls, which was released 16 years ago. Chabert immediately responded that it would be fun to watch what Wieners must be doing at this time. The actress noted that no one spoke about the sequel during the reunion, but if it is offered to the cast members, she is sure that everyone would entertain.

The reunion included Daniel Franzese, Rajiv Surendra, Jonathan Bennett, Ana Gasteyer, Tim Meadows, Lizzy Caplan, Amanda Seyfried, Rachel McAdams, Lindsay Lohan, and Tina Fey. The actress noted that the reunion turned out to be emotional and surprising for everyone.

Moreover, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year is going to feature four shows, including Mean Girls, Ain't Too Proud, Hamilton, and Jagged Little Pill. The 2020 segment will be pre-recorded, unlike live performance outside the iconic storefront. However, Chabert reflected on her character after almost two decades.

"I feel like Gretchen is running the toaster strudel empire and she probably ended marrying Jason (portrayed by Daniel DeSanto), and they probably have like six babies," she chuckled. Chabert recalled the emotional moment during the reunion as the entire cast came together after a long time since they made the movie in the early 2000s.

She explained how most of them are now married and got kids while living other beautiful moments of their life. She found it pretty amazing that everyone made time for this reunion, and it turned out to be so special.

The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past star admitted that her life has changed since the film got released and said that she was just 21 at that time. Although she later went on to marry her longtime boyfriend, David Nehdar, and welcomed their first baby girl together, Julia, in 2016.

Chabert opened up about her upcoming series, Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas, produced by Blake Shelton, slated to release on Dec. 5, and Christmas Waltz will release on Nov. 28 on Hallmark.
