The Crown cast members Erin Doherty, Emerald Fennell, Josh O’Connor, Olivia Colman, and more dish on their characters from the hit Netflix series.

Closer USA compiled the actors' recent interviews, starting with Doherty. Who plays the role of Princess Anne. She thinks Princess Royal initially wanted to become friends with Princess Diana.

However, she soon learned that royal fans favored the Princess of Wales more than her, and she couldn’t help but feel jealous.

Doherty also admitted that she struggled to portray the role of Princess Anne in the series, especially when she had to bring to life the royal’s frustrations over being compared to Princess Diana.

Fennell, on the other hand, knows that Camilla Parker Bowles watches The Crown. But the actress said that this isn’t the best time for the Duchess of Cornwall to catch up on the series.

After all, Camilla isn’t portrayed positively throughout Season 4.

And according to Fennell, Camilla tried to keep a brave face on, but the threat of her relationship with Prince Charles left her feeling terrified.

O’Connor, who plays the role of Prince Charles, described the heir to the throne as kind of a lonely figure.

The actor also said that when Prince Charles tied the knot with Princess Diana, he felt that this was the right thing.

But it didn’t take the couple long to realize that their marriage was doomed from the start.

Colman, who plays the role of Queen Elizabeth, said that Her Majesty would question her mothering skills in the series. After all, the monarch knows that she was a distant mother when Prince Charles and Princess Anne were still very little.

Marion Bailey, who plays the role of Queen Mother, said that her character is never shy to offer her thoughts and advice to anyone, including her eldest daughter.

The Queen Mother is also involved in Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage when she tells them to suck it up because their relationship is about duty and not love.

Meanwhile, The Crown fans were thrilled after watching the fourth season of the series. Many of them praised Emma Corrin for her portrayal of Princess Diana, who is seen in the program for the first time this season.

However, the royal family doesn’t share the same sentiments. According to reports, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William are not thrilled with how Netflix exploited one of the most difficult times in their lives to make a profit.
