The known-to-be sweet girl performer, by wearing candies and animal prints costumes, American singer Katy Perry took her dress up to a whole new level at the recently-concluded 2020 American Music Awards.

Katy Perry rocks denim-on-denim outfit

The 2020 American Music Awards that took place on Nov. 22 at Los Angeles, California's Microsoft Theater, was graced by the mother-of-one singer. And not just that, the 36-year-old Never Really Over marked his first awards show performance since giving birth in August, as she donned a relaxed and calming denim outfit!

As Hollywood Life described Katy's apparel, the news site said that the singer maligned a "Canadian Tuxedo" look, in the style of the denim get up. Moreover, the fiancé of Orlando Bloom stormed the stage with an oversized light-washed blue jacket, which matches the jeans at the bottom.

The mesmerizing dress up of Katy best resembles the AMAs' previous event, with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. The two singers go all out by matching their outfits in a denim ensemble during the 2001 AMAs.

The Daisy singer recreated Britney and Justin's actual get-up at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, hailing friend Riff Raff as her Justin.

Katy Perry sang Only Love for a stripped performance

As Katy's denim domination carry on, the singer performed for the very first time her ballad song titled Only Love alongside Darius Rucker. The two musicians took the stage in chairs, sitting across from each other, following the social distancing rule.

Katy then went to her personal Instagram account to share her fantastic experience with Darius, alongside posting a portrait of her and a photo of her with Darius, taken during the recording session of their performance.

"Went back to church, met a new friend @dariusrucker and found #OnlyLove," the singer wrote in the caption.

In another Instagram post, Katy posted of her baby self, with her father, Pastor Keith Hudson, holding her. And in the caption, she said the Only Love performance is dedicated to her father. Instyle also found that Darius took his Twitter account to share his team-up with Katy to the world.

Furthermore, Today reported that Only Love is off from Katy's fifth album Smile, making it her first AMAs performance since 2013. "She taught us how to be a firework and shine," Taraji P. Henson said, introducing Katy. Then she said she invited one of her favorite singers with her on the stage for an exceptional duet.
