The Crown Season 4 premiered last week, and the new episodes drew a slew of mixed reactions from royal experts and royal fans.

YOU recently compiled some of these reactions and said that what Netflix did is quite tricky because they distorted some of the facts behind Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, and Princess Diana’s controversial relationship.

In the series, Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) and Camilla (Emerald Fennell) met up at a restaurant for lunch before the former tied the knot with Prince Charles.

The two female royals talked about Prince Charles, and it was during this meeting that Princess Diana learned just how close Camilla is to her future husband.

However, royal expert Penny Junor said that this wasn’t what happened in the real life. While it is true that Princess Diana and Camilla met at the Menage a Trois, this happened after the Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot.

Before their royal wedding, the two female royals met at a different restaurant, but their conversation was brief. Camilla simply wished Princess Diana well ahead of her marriage to Prince Charles.

Despite the inconsistencies in The Crown, a pal close to the Duchess of Cornwall that there’s a huge possibility that Camilla will watch all 10 episodes from Season 4. After all, Prince Charles’ wife has a wonderful sense of humor.

Camilla’s unnamed friend also said that it’s unlikely for her to be fazed by what she will see in the series because she has no issue with it.

However, royal author Sally Bedell Smith thinks that the depictions of Prince Charles and Camilla in the series could damage their reputation again.

Over the years, royal fans have warmed up to Camilla even though she was one of the reasons why Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage failed.

But to revisit the affair in the series and to add some fiction to it could affect the public’s perception of the royal couple again.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Prince Harry are, reportedly, upset over how their late mother was depicted in the series.

For years, the siblings have been pleading with royal fans to let Princess Diana rest in peace. According to royal expert Angela Levin, Prince Harry vowed to not allow The Crown to affect his life.

During their conversation, Prince Harry told Levin that he would urge the people behind The Crown to end the series before it gets to her and Meghan Markle.

As for Prince William, he, reportedly, feels that his parents are being exploited just because Netflix wants to make a huge profit.
