A considerable number of current Trump administration officials and a handful of political appointees who resigned recently have started silently reaching out to President-elect Joe Biden's transition team members. This news comes from people who were notified about the matter.

This attempt to reach out represents growing frustration among even those associated with the administration over President Donald Trump's denial to concede the election and the White House obstructing the transition process. The General Services Administration hasn't acknowledged the Democrat leader's victory yet, nor has it initiated the formal transition, despite Biden warning that GSA delaying the transition could delay the distribution of coronavirus vaccine by several weeks or months, Bloomberg reported.

With the GSA obstructing the transition process, Biden and his team have been denied access to contacts to federal agencies, foot the bill for ramping up government hiring for the incoming administration, and access to classified intelligence briefings, which Biden has been receiving from experts outside government amid Trump's denial to allow a smooth transition, CNBC reported.

One of Trump's former officials told CNN they are viewing this attempt to reach out to Biden's team members as sidelining partisan considerations for the sake of their duty to the country. Moreover, sources explain that these conversations aren't as comprehensive as formal briefings that would be held once the transition is officially sanctioned.

The sources suggest the conversations could help Biden transition members get an idea about the challenges they would be facing after taking office. Another former White House official who left the Trump administration recently said that he emailed the individual he thinks will be back in the new administration in a similar role to his and expressed willingness to help.

One current administration official confirmed earlier this week to CNN that there has been friendly reach out from inside the administration to Biden's team members. The official also confirmed that the attempt to get in touch with the incoming administration's team is not something that might get them in trouble since it is nothing more than an offer to be of help.

The official said Biden's team members understand the limitations and intentions of those current and former Trump administration officials reached out to them. Aside from that, the official also confirmed that the outreach has not led to any significant conversations.

One of Biden's senior advisers acknowledged the Trump administration's officials' outreach but did not divulge more details about the communication. Another Biden aide said they appreciated the help officials from across the government have offered.
