Queen Elizabeth has been sparking rumors that she will be quitting The Firm next year after she turns 95.

However, royal author Ingrid Seward said that this wouldn’t be the case. After all, the queen vowed to serve her country and her people for the rest of her life.

The author of Prince Philip Revealed said that the queen vowed to be of service for as long as she’s well and able to do so. And even though she’s already 94 years old, the queen is still very much well and able to perform her royal duties.

But even though the queen has no plans to abdicate or retire, Seward said that she would continue to step back from her royal duties. In fact, this is what is already happening throughout the past couple of years.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, royal fans have only been seeing Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. They haven’t seen much of the queen except on one or two public appearances and Zoom calls.

According to Seward, this will still be the case even after the pandemic is over because of the queen’s age. But one of the upsides to the queen stepping back from her royal duties is she could continue guiding the senior working royals without doing the leg work.

New Idea claimed that the queen started scaling back from her royal duties when she was in her 80s. Her trip to Australia with Prince Philip was dubbed as her farewell trip because it was the last time that the royal couple traveled overseas for work.

According to reports, the engagement proved to be very taxing for the monarch and the Duke of Edinburgh. So, they decided to send the younger members of the royal family to different countries on their behalf.

Meanwhile, the queen also made headlines this week after a scary incident in her life was revisited in The Crown. In the 1950s, Michael Fagan managed to get into Buckingham Palace and even see the queen inside her bedroom.

Following his arrest, Fagan told The Sun that he saw the queen sleeping in her bed. And when she woke up, she was startled and tried to get security.

Fagan also revealed that this wasn’t his first attempt to break into the palace. Weeks earlier, he also tried to see the queen using a similar method, but Sarah Carter saw him.
