Keeping in line with that, President Donald Trump is advising the country's governors to seriously consider reopening schools, despite some states strongly criticizing his suggestion to resume the school year. During a teleconference call, obtained by CNN, Trump noted that young children have done pretty well in this crisis, the president said some states might want to start thinking about school openings.

He noted that a lot of people are looking forward to reopening school, adding that they might want to get going on it. On the downside, Trump noted that many students are unlikely to return to the classrooms in the immediate future.

CNN's school closers tally show 43 states along with Washington, DC, have either ordered or advised governors to not reopen schools this academic year. Tennessee, South Dakota, Maine, Kentucky, Idaho, and California have urged the local officials to continue supporting students via distance learning programs.

The Montana governor has given school districts a choice to start in-classroom learning as early as May 7. Once the students start returning to the classrooms, it will the administrators' duty to keep them, as well as their families safe by promoting options such as wearing masks, canceling assemblies, and sports.

Known as an important member of the White House coronavirus task force, Dr. Anthony Fauci noted that the situation is unpredictable, responding to questions about school reopening. Fauci admitted that he can't accurately predict, but expects that by the time it is fall in America, things are likely to be under control to the extent wherein shutting schools may not be necessary.

Dr. Fauci said it is likely to be different from the government being able to track, test, and trace those infected by the virus. Accompanied by the task force officials including Pence, the president discussed the administration's testing blueprint on Monday's call.

They spent a lot of time discussing the reopening plan, answering questions from the governors, fielding praise, and thanks. Trump asked them to get in the queue for asking questions by dialing hashtag two. Responding to a question about whether or not he has decided on reopening his state, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak told the president, who owns a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip that the casino management is focused on doing it right.

Moreover, he has teamed up with Sheldon Adelson and others to work towards reopening the state safely. Aside from that, Sisolak said they are slowly but surely getting to that stage where they can welcome people back to Las Vegas, something Trump deems as a big thing.
