Netflix’s "The Crown" fourth season recently aired last week. The TV show has already created a major buzz after its controversial portrayal of the royal family and Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s tumultuous relationship.

But one episode garnered much traction as fans are convinced that Kate Middleton, the real Duchess of Cambridge and wife to the future King of England, made a cameo on the show.

According to the reports from The Scottish Sun, the look-a-like actress of Kate appeared in a crowd scene while Princess Diana, played by Emma Corin and Prince Charles, played by Josh O’Connor, was driving through the crowd.

The extra was wearing a bright yellow cardigan and a flower-patterned dress, making her easily visible amongst other extras on set.

Other than that, the actress also donned a look that Kate Middleton often wears, hair that is loosely curled past the shoulders and light make-up. Allegedly, this was part of the Director’s plan to see if the viewers will catch on.

Although these claims made by royal fans and fans of Netflix’s "The Crown" that the future Queen Consort played extra in the series are untrue, the casting directors hit a nail on how much she looks like with the Duchess.

Furthermore, the show has created a decisive opinion from fans as it depicts how imperfect the royal family is.

Some newspapers have described "The Crown" plot as finally turning against The Queen after portraying her as a serene and just person in the past seasons.

The new season covers many of the scandals and controversies the royal family went through in the 1980s. Still, most especially, the highlight is the portrayal of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage.

"The Crown" creator opened up about how some of the issues in the show are sensitive. For one, Diana’s eating disorder, which is Bulimia, was sensitively handled.

It does remind the public how bad the royal family treated the Princess of Wales while she was under their wing.

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles affair is also depicted on the show, and it creates a villainous air, as it shows how unfairly Prince Charles treated Princess Diana.

Apparently, the palace is not happy about the newest season of ‘The Crown’ and finds it distasteful to depict the royal family in such a way.

All of the information the production team gathers are from insiders who have worked with the royal family in the ’80s, as well as royal experts and historians.
