Jennifer Lopez gets emotional as she received her People’s Icon of 2020 award. The 51-year-old actress opened up about her career journey and shared her experience while addressing young upcoming talents.

Before Lopez accepted the award, Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger congratulated the actress and singer for her hard work and created such a huge impact on many other talents worldwide. The actress started her acceptance speech by noting that the ongoing year has been difficult for many people, including her, because of the pandemic.

However, she reflected on the COVID-19 situation and said that human touch is extremely important, which everyone has realized during the lockdown. She further mentioned the importance of staying connected to one another and how she admitted her need to stay connected was discovered during the lockdown.

Recently, the actress had dropped the first look of her upcoming romantic comedy film, Marry Me. The movie features Owen Wilson in the lead opposite Lopez. The story revolves around a pop star who decides to get married to a stranger following she discovered that her fiance cheated.

The first look showcased the star rehearsing with a bunch of dancers in a frame, while in the second picture, she is having a sweet conversation with Wilson. The movie was slated to release on Feb. 21, but now it has been scheduled for May 14.

The movie was supposed to clash with Eternals, but now, it seems there won't be any box office war. While accepting the award at the event, Lopez admitted that she wants to reach and touch her fans and share her experiences.

The Maid in Manhattan star said that no one is alone in such challenging times, and her fans' faith and belief in her keeps her motivated. Moreover, she recalled the time when she felt beaten down or tired like many people did this year, but it is her children, friends, fans, family, and everyone around her who keeps her uplifted.

She mentioned being grateful for having everyone in her life which helps to motivate her during the difficult times. The actress said that her approach towards her professional life is similar to how she approaches her personal life.

The actress noted that she big ambitions and dreams people around her uncomfortable, and they kept pulling her down. When she wanted to become an actress, they said she is only good as a dancer. Later in life, when she chose to become a businesswoman, they again pulled her down. However, she asked the new talent to keep moving forward in life.
