Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip will soon celebrate their milestone 73rd wedding anniversary.

According to Us Weekly, throughout the past seven decades, the royal couple has always celebrated their wedding anniversary in a simple manner. And this year won’t be an exception.

On November 20, the queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will, reportedly, have an afternoon tea, and the chef will bake them a chocolate cake. If the weather is nice, the royal couple will also go on a romantic walk on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The source said that this year’s anniversary is a milestone because it’s such a blessing that Prince Philip and the queen are still around. After all, a lot of people contracted the deadly coronavirus virus and some of them passed away.

For their anniversary, the queen and Prince Philip will also reminisce on what they’ve been through together. At the start of their relationship, Prince Philip didn’t have the Queen Mother’s support and blessing to wed the queen.

But over the years, the dad of four has proven himself to be a strong and wonderful ally for Her Majesty. And even the monarch herself once said that she wouldn’t have been able to do some of the things that she did if Prince Philip wasn’t by her side.

Meanwhile, Us Weekly also talked about the possible end of the era for the queen. A source claimed that it’s highly likely for the queen to pass on her reigns to Prince Charles next year.

The insider also debunked the rumors that the queen could bypass Prince Charles for the throne by asking Prince William to succeed her. The source said that this won’t happen because the queen is not one to break from tradition.

As such, when the queen steps back from her royal duties next year without renouncing her title, she will be relying more on Prince Charles. But since she’s also groomed Prince William since he was young, she will also rely on her grandson for help and support.

However, some royal experts don’t think that the queen will step back from her royal duties. And they believe that the only time she will stop ruling the British monarchy is after she dies.

On her coronation day decades ago, the queen promised to serve her country and her people until the day she dies. And royal experts are convinced that she will live up to this promise.
