Nicole Kidman may not have a very high opinion about her singing skills, but that does not mean she has no admirers in the music fraternity. Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark gushed about this talented actress after meeting her at a dinner party in Big Apple.

Indeed, Hollywood does not churn out a large volume of musicals these days, but it becomes a big box office success whenever there is one. Kidman’s Moulin Rouge is one such perfect example. Released in 2001, the musical got multiple Oscar nominations, including a nomination for the star in the Best Actress category (via Cinema Blend).

The film was special for another reason – it showcased the Big Little Lies star’s incredible singing talent. However, the actress did not think she was good enough as a singer, contrary to what her fans thought. Rather, she hoped she could be as good a singer as an actress.

Kidman seems to be more comfortable as an actress than being a singer because she finds singing a frustrating task. While she is confident of coming up with a good performance in any film, she is not quite sure whether she can do the same with singing.

So, what if the Eyes Wide Shut actress is humble and modest about her singing skills? Amy Shark could not help praising the Aussie actress during her appearance on the KIIS FM’s Kylie and Jackie O show. The songstress told the hosts that she could go on praising Kidman the entire day.

The I Said Hi hitmaker recollected meeting the 53-year-old actress in New York City at Russell Crow’s home where they were both invited for dinner last year. She considers herself to be fortunate to have got to know someone like Nicole Kidman.

The Academy Award-winning actor had also invited Hugh Jackman’s wife Deborra-Lee Furness and Shark’s husband Shane Billings at the same surprise dinner party.

It was evident from Amy Shark’s words that Kidman takes a keen interest in music (via The Daily Telegraph). She seemed to be familiar with almost all the songs of the singer and was full of praises for the younger artist.

The singer felt that The Undoing star was genuinely interested in what she did because she discussed all those Shark’s songs she was fond of (via Daily Mail).

Nicole Kidman’s The Undoing also stars the talented British actor Hugh Grant where they play the roles of an on-screen couple. The miniseries is being aired on HBO and has been receiving excellent reviews.
