More details are coming out with regards to the divorce between reality star Erika Jayne and her lawyer husband, Tom Girardi.

E! Online reports that the 49-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is asking for spousal support from her 81-year-old ex-husband. The court filings that E! Online has acquired also say that Jayne wishes to be exempted from providing spousal support to Girardi in turn.

Aside from spousal support, Jayne is also reportedly asking Girardi to pay for her attorney’s fees. The reality star is also asking the court to look into the properties she and Girardi share and whether she would have any claims on them.

According to Us Magazine, the couple was already living separate lives even before the announcement of their separation. Reportedly, months would pass before the two would see each other. The media outlet also says that Jayne’s participation in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has given her a taste of independence.

Us Magazine also speculates that the divorce and whatever fallout come from it might play out in the public eye, despite Jayne’s wish for it to be a private affair. This is because the latest season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills just started filming a month ago.

Before the announcement of their separation, Jayne and Girardi’s marriage was a pretty long one by Hollywood standards. The couple had already been married for 20 years before Jayne decided to file for divorce.

The couple first met when Jayne was working as a server at Chasen’s in West Hollywood. Girardi, a high-powered attorney, was a patron of the bar that Jayne finally approached after a year. Their engagement happened six months after that.

Jayne said that she has had to deal with cynics that doubted her marriage because of the 33-year gap between the two of them. As a response, she would point to her 20-year marriage as proof that she was not in the relationship for money. She also revealed that neither of them had signed a prenup.

Jayne and Girardi are far from the only Hollywood couple who have ended a marriage that has lasted for more than a decade. After 19 years of marriage, actors Clark Gregg and Jennifer Grey took to their Instagram accounts to announce that they would be divorcing.

This year also saw musician Ray J file for divorce from his wife, reality star Princess Love. Filed in September, Ray J’s request for divorce happened two months after Love withdrew the divorce she filed in August.

Tracy Morgan and Megan Wollover also ended their five-year marriage earlier this year.
